Adecco website
The world’s largest recruiter Adecco has launched a new online marketplace today, which will allow engineering and technical contractors to sell their services.
The new www.people4engineering.com website allows engineers to promote themselves to potential employers, listing their hire price, previous career experience, date that they are available for work and their skill sets. Interested buyers can then browse for the staff they want against a list of over 2,000 engineering skills, sorting them by cost, their location and their performance rating.
“This is the future of contract engineering,” said Rene Schuster, Adecco Group UK and Ireland chief executive. “People4engineering is the perfect way for contractors and employers to find each other based entirely around what they need. The new site is great for both parties. Contractors can rest assured knowing that they are being paid the rate they have personally set, and employers can quickly and easily find those people with the exact experience and skills they need.”
Meanwhile, Adecco has researched over 1,000 FTSE and non-FTSE employees to see what processes businesses are putting in place to reduce carbon emissions.
The research found FTSE businesses are more likely to be green than their non-listed counterparts with 52% recycling electronic equipment (only 39% on non-listed sample) and 39% investing in energy efficient lighting (only 29% on non-listed).
Meanwhile, 76% of FTSE employees think that their businesses could do more to operate in an environmentally friendly way.
The three most widely implemented green activities are recycling office paper, recycling printer cartridges and turning lights off when not in use.
