The election of the UK’s first Green party MP highlights the growing importance of green jobs creation, according to Ben Cartland, director of green recruiter Acre Resources.
Last night Caroline Lucas became Britain’s first Green party MP after winning the Brighton Pavilion seat.
Cartland told Recruiter: “It is great that the Greens have got a seat. It shows there is a rising consciousness that green issues are becoming more important.
“Manufacturing has been on its knees. The automotive sector has been in massive decline. The three major parties have made green issues part of their agenda. The traditional parties have shown that showing green credentials are vote-winning policies.”
