Over 100 jobs and significant investments in the UK renewable energy sector are to be announced today by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.

The headline figure among these announcements is 100 jobs to be created or safeguarded by recycling plant Closed Loop Recycling under £12m expansion plans.
This is the latest in a series of announcements made by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) alongside UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), one of a total of 18 timed to coincide with the Olympic Games.
It also sees £100m initial funding given to specialist environmental and renewable fund managers Equitix and Sustainable Development Capital.The UK currently has 173,000 people employed in the energy industry or 7% of all industrial employment.
