The global industrial sector is crying out for conflict management skills, according to research from recruitment solutions firm Futurestep.

A survey of 1,589 HR professionals across eight countries including the UK saw 21% of organisations saying it was the skill in shortest supply, while 19% said it was the most difficult competency to develop in new recruits.Dinesh Tyagi, industrial market leader at Futurestep India, says: “We are seeing an increase in global talent migration, especially in industrial managers from European to Asian countries, which is resulting in a culturally diverse workforce.

“Conflict management skills are essential to ensure a mixed labour force runs harmoniously and employee relations are strong regardless of the difference in background and culture of its employees.”
