Inward investment into the UK economy created 52,741 jobs in the year 2010/11, and secured a further 59,918, show figures announced by business secretary Vince Cable.
These jobs figures are respectively rises of 26% and 14% on the previous years.
They are also the highest in a decade, and Cable adds: “The bottom line is that firms of all sizes believe that if they come to the UK, they will grow and succeed.”
The UK remains Europe’s largest gross venue for foreign direct investment. Investment from 58 countries was led by the US, followed by France and then China.
