Metals producer Alcoa has promoted Mike Barriere from chief talent officer to vice president, human resources, effective 1 May.

Barriere has been with Alcoa since last year, previously holding senior HR roles within the financial services industry, most recently at New York Life Insurance.

He succeeds Jack Bergen, who becomes vice president, corporate projects, and remains based in the US.

Alcoa has 61,000 employees in 31 countries.
