Fearon appointed to take BRC to new heights in UK and Oz

Housing management and social care recruiter BRC has appointed ex-Hays director Mark Fearon as managing director.

BRC is looking to treble its size in the next three years and become a prominent specialist recruiting to the public services sector in the UK and Australia, and part of Fearon’s remit is to oversee the process.

At Hays, Fearon, who is a former graduate from the University of the West of England in modern languages and information systems, worked his way up to director with responsibility for the Midlands and South-West region of Hays Education.

Commenting on his appointment with BRC, Fearon said: “I am really looking forward to this role. BRC has built excellent relationships with its customers over the past 10 years and has a core staff who have been with the business for a substantial time during this period.

“Good quality SMEs have a key role to play in the public sector through in-depth local knowledge, delivery of services locally and understanding of the sector.”

Emma Zeeman has been appointed managing director of Belfast-based Grafton ESP (Employment Solutions Portfolio) with responsibility for delivering recruitment process outsourcing and human consultancy services to companies in Ireland and internationally. Grafton ESP is a new division of the Grafton Employment Group.


Travel staffing firm C&M Travel Recruitment has recruited former Goldman Sachs employee Jim Gervaise-Brazier to head up a new financial division. Japanese-owned Faro Recruitment Group has appointed Brendan Flood (left) as chief executive of Europe and the Americas and Simon Lythgoe (below left) as group marketing director. Faro operates in 15 countries with two businesses in the UK — People First and Faro Digital Media Recruitment.

Graham Nyman is the new business development director at third space recruiter S&H Consulting. Nyman has worked in the financial services consultancy sector in Europe and Asia Pacific for over 20 years with firms such as Catalyst, Quic and Algorithmics.

Executive recruiter for public and private sectors, charities and notfor- profit organisations Rockpools has appointed Anna Bishell as head of the group’s interim management practice.

Insurance, banking and professional services recruiter Eames Consulting Group, has annouced several key hires. Richard Griffiths joins Eames’s contingency, underwriting and broking division. The former deputy managing director (Southern) for Hays Insurance has extensive experience within insurance markets. Stephen Wall is to take charge of the compliance division. Wall has also appointed both Denis Spearman and Warren Vickers to the team, who join from Legal Professionals. Alex Fair joins the change management division, while Rupert Rickard strengthens the actuarial division. Clare Eades joins from Practicus to add to the expanding information technology division and Ben Johnson has been promoted to senior consultant within the change management division.

Yorkshire-based specialist social care recruiter AJ Social Care has appointed Nick Schumacher as business development manager. Schumacher has worked for Reliance Care, Blue Arrow Care.

National recruiter Independent Appointments has appointed two new members of staff for its Manchester office. Becky Smith will specialise in finding legal secretaries and assistants throughout the North, while Richard Townsend re-joins the company after a sabbatical to work as part of the North-West general insurance team alongside regional manager, Martin Heywood, and senior consultant, Ollie Adegoke.

Multi-sector recruiter Astbury Marsen has appointed Stephanie McCoig to head up its permanent technology division. McCoig is charged with building Astbury Marsden’s existing client relationships, as well as continuing to grow and develop the technology division. Multi-sector recruiter FPSG (First People Solutions Group) has appointed Mark Geraghty associate director for Manchester and Northern England.

Geraghty’s experience includes stints at Huxley Associates (SThree Group) and the Caudwell Group, working under John Caudwell for his Cornerstone business, before it was sold to a private equity firm.

Hasson Associates has promoted Sarah Penny (left) to associate partner. Penny has been with the company shortly after its launch in January 2008.

Specialist senior rec-to-rec firm Bespoke rec2rec has promoted Dave Hardy to director. Hardy’s remit is to drive the Manchesterbased firm forward, while also expanding the team of specialist rec-to-rec consultants to cover the whole of the UK.

TheLadders.co.uk, a careers site for £50k-plus executives, has appointed online recruiter Jimmy Kyriacou as head of sales. Kyriacou bring more than 13 years’ experience in online recruitment, most recently as business consultant at CVLibrary. co.uk.

Hays has appointed Julie Greenwood as managing director of Hays Healthcare in the UK. Her remit will cover NHS national frameworks and focus on candidate attraction, retention and loyalty.
