Staffing company Randstad’s Q4 2011 revenues were up 13% to €4,377.5m (£3,644.8m) compared to the previous quarter, with earnings before interest, tax and amortisation adjusted for one-off and integration costs up 1% to €163.3m.

THE AGENCY WORKERS REGULATIONS (AWR) are ridiculous. In response to your story reporting on the AWR summit in London (‘AWR four months on: opinions still divided over position of limited company contractors’, recruiter.co.uk, 3 February) we have clients still not supplying the correct rates largely due to middle management companies.
The long awaited decision on the first-tier Tribunal case of Reed determined that Reed’s travel scheme was ineffective and that the expense payments were not allowable. The resulting liabilities have been calculated at £158m but are disputed and an appeal is expected.
