Oracle’s vice-president for e-business, UK, Ireland and South Africa has warned that vendor alliances risk becoming “marriages of convenience” that put the customer at risk. “Alliances will never help business processes if the customer has to pay for the integration,” Chris Baker told AMR Research’s European executive conference.
European businesses believe internal resistance to change is their largest barrier to effective supply chain management, a survey has found.

More than half of the 245 companies surveyed said this was the main problem, followed by supply chain complexity, bad organisational structures and poor alignment of objectives.
