The Indian defence ministry has been accused of exploiting the deaths of soldiers in Kashmir two years ago by taking commission on the purchase of their coffins. John Howe, deputy chief executive of the Defence Procurement Agency, will join the UK subsidiary of French electronics group Thomson-CSF on a two-year secondment. The firm is Britain’s second largest defence electronics contractor, after BAe Systems.
