Anglo-Dutch steel producer Corus is to spend up to £500 million on plant investment over the next five years, but most of the money will be spent outside the UK. Sir Brian Moffat, Corus’s chairman, said that the company needed to be closer to its markets and boost sales in specialised grades of metal suited to high-value products.
