E-business has entered the “new new economy”, according to software provider SAP. Hasso Plattner, its chief executive, told delegates at the group’s Sapphire user conference in Lisbon that it would focus on virtual exchange technology developed by SAPMarkets and e-market provider Commerce One.


The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) may be called in to monitor relations between supermarkets and their suppliers, according to the Competition Commission. If, following discussions with supermarkets this month, the commission decides that unreasonable charges or demands were being made on suppliers, codes of conduct may be drawn up.
