Executive search specialist Saxton Bampfylde has been tasked with finding the new chief executive for Jobcentre Plus.

Describing the position a job advert posted on The Times, says: “Its key role - to help unemployed people to find work - has never been more important than it is now.”

A report from multi-sector recruiter Randstad predicted none of the member states would hit the Lisbon employment targets for 2010, which included a total unemployment rate of 4% or less. The European Union’s 2010 Lisbon employment targets were originally agreed upon in 2000 by the then 15 member states.

Sandra Robertson has been appointed as the new chief executive at commercial and financial recruiter Charterhouse Group International.

Joining in January 2004 to head up the group’s operations division, Robertson was most recently chief operating officer and has held several other senior management posts within the Charterhouse Group.
