The airline industry is suffering from a hiring freeze, according to travel recruiters.

As Virgin Atlantic announced it could cut up to 600 jobs last week, John Tolmie, director at AA Appointments, told Recruiter that the travel sector first ran into problems last year.

A Welling gangmaster has had its licence revoked by the Gangmasters Licensing Authority (GLA).

The action was taken against High Class Recruitment based in Welling, Kent after the authority was informed that manager Paul Sangster had left the company. The GLA does not allow a licence to be held when it is clear that no person currently working is permitted to act as a gangmaster.
