Talent acquisition is one of the key priorities for HR professionals, according to new research from professional consultancy Towers Watson.

The research shows more than a third saw pay issues as the most important HR priority, followed by talent acquisition (23%) and the redesign of the employee value proposition or ‘deal’ (20%).

Marketing recruitment, search and career consultancy DNA has appointed Simon Harle as partner.

Harle has been promoted from associate director.

Meanwhile Dan de Lord joins as head of digital along with Mark Chalmers who joins the digital team as consultant.

Elsewhere David McGowan has been appointed consultant on client services.

Fewer employers plan to cut the amount of agency labour they use than in 2008, according to research from employment law firm Eversheds.

Ahead of implementation of the Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) in October, the figures reveal the number of employers looking to cut agency labour use has fallen from 64% in 2008 to 24% now.

Instead of putting the focus solely on high potential leaders, “value” is what organisations must look for to ensure future success, Davies urged in a talk to the Human Resources Forum.

The firm will continue to trade as ASA Law and specialise in the placement of lawyers and legal staff in the areas of clinical negligence and personal injury.

Almost one in four (22%) UK employers are planning to increase their use of temporary labour in the next three months, according to the Recruitment & Employment Confederation’s latest JobsOutlook.

The report also shows 28% are planning to recruit more agency workers over the next 12 months.
