The number of managers and senior managers working in the NHS in England fell last year alongside an overall increase in the size of the workforce, according to a report from the NHS Information Centre.
Lady Barbara Judge has resigned from the board of international recruiter Robert Walters.
Andrew Kemp, who joined the board on 7 November 2007, will replace judge as chairman of the board’s Remuneration Committee, with effect from 30 April. Martin Griffiths, who joined the board on 1 July 2006, becomes senior independent director.
The UK manufacturing sector is increasingly hiring interim managers to cope with increased demand, according to Tom Legard, head of the manufacturing practice at Interim Partners.
Legard’s comments follow Ipsos MORI research, which shows daily rates for interim managers in manufacturing reached £845 per day in the last quarter of 2010, up 13% compared with the same time last year.
Recruitment software provider Dillistone Group has seen revenues rise, according to its audited results for the year to 31 December 2010.
The group’s results reveal:
•Revenues up 16% to £4.3m with non recurring revenues up 31%
•Operating profits up 9% to £1.2m
•Cash funds of £2.1m, up 18%.
A ‘can-do’ attitude as well as soft skills are the most important attributes employers look for when recruiting new workers, according to research from Virgin Media Business.
The study found a ‘can-do’ attitude was most important for 85% of repsondents, while academic qualifications and professional qualifications were most important for 27% and 28% respectively.
Recruiters will be able to learn what contract and permanent vacancies are predicted for the coming 12 months and where talent will be needed in Switzerland next month.
International recruiter Hydrogen Group has opened an office in Hong Kong.
Contracting solutions provider CXC Global has now moved to new offices in St Petersburg, Russia.
Located at Europa House, CXC offers work permits and work visa for foreign specialists anywhere in Russia, within around six weeks.
Not cutting headcount to the extent that competitors did in the downturn and maintaining marketing budgets have helped technical staffing specialist Harvey Nash grab marketshare and generate rising revenue.
