Too often, the in-house vs agency recruitment dilemma is the most provocative debate on tap within the recruitment community. Or which kind of social media will work best for a particular organisation.

Jobs growth was maintained at “solid pace” in December, according to the latest Report on Jobs from the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) and KPMG. The report reveals permanent staff placements and temporary staff billings both continued to rise in December, though the rates of growth recorded were slightly weaker than the three-month highs of November.

US jobs reached a two-and-a-half year high in February, according to Gallup’s job creation index.

The index posted a two-and-a-half year high of +12 for the month.

The score reflects 30% of employees nationwide saying their employers are hiring and 18% saying their employers are cutting headcount.
