Profits increased at international recruiter Antal International for the year ended 31 December 2008.

Turnover rose to £13.2m from £8.9m in 2007, while gross profit jumped from £8.66m to £12.67m.

Operating profit in 2008 was £1.4m.

Job board, the Right Jobs Network, and Welsh UTV radio stations The Wave and Swansea Sound, have launched the first of its radio-backed geographical job boards in the UK.

The site, www.rightjobinwales.com, aims to offer a range of jobs to experienced candidates in the South Wales area.

Almost seven in 10 candidates admit to lying in order to get a new job, according to research from recruitment agency review site Hirescores.com.

The poll of 1,277 people found that 69% of candidates had lied in some way to get their job, with 36% lying about their referee and 90% lying on their CV.

Jobs board network TipTopJob Group has launched theoilandgasjob.com to cater for oil, gas, utility and service related jobs.

The site replaces theutilityjob.com and will list jobs for all levels of employment in the sector registered online.

International recruiter Kelly’s South African operation has seen profits decline in the six months to September.

Profit before interest, tax and depreciation fell by 28% to R114.6m (£9.18m). 

Most manufacturers believe the default retirement age should be retained to keep talent in the sector, according to a survey from talent management solutions provider CPH, and EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation.

The poll of 500 employers found that 68% support the retention of the default retirement age of 65. Support was slightly higher among large and medium-sized companies.
