Specialist legal recruitment consultancy, Cogence Search, has appointed Peter Rouse, founder of international IP [intellectual property] firm Rouse, as senior legal recruitment consultant.

Rouse established the Rouse organisation, an international consultancy with 13 offices worldwide, in 1990.

IT recruiter ePeople Recruitment has promoted Daniel Waltham to managing consultant.

Back office support and finance company Calverton Business Support has launched an online payroll system.

The system aims to help recruiters manage their workers’ payroll and cash-flow and has been launched as part of the firm’s PayFactory service for the recruitment sector.  

Allen and Overy (A&O) hopes to expand its newly launched Casablanca office to a team of 25 people, with a mix of recruits from the local population and its Paris office.

A&O, whose Moroccan office will be opening in September, is the first of the ‘magic circle’ law firms to expand into Africa. The firm plans to hire its new recruits by next year.

Marketing, digital and creative recruiter Dylan Marketing Recruitment has appointed Laura Morris as a consultant and Hollie Roberts as a resourcer.

Morris will be responsible for recruiting digital positions in production, project management and creative across all levels, while Roberts joins Dylan from Media Com, where she was a digital planner and buyer.

Negative comments posted by candidates about their experiences with employers should be taken with a pinch of salt, according to the UK and Ireland recruitment director at global consultancy firm Accenture.

Work experience is the best indicator of talent, according to a survey from international recruiter Kelly Services.

The survey of 2,200 people in the UK reveals 67% say that when looking for a job, the best indicator of a person’s talent is their work experience, followed by performance in the job interview (21%), job references (6%) and education (also 6%).

Rising numbers of companies are seeking insolvency-related legal advice, according to  find-a-solicitor service Contact Law.

The research reveals a 72% increase in enquiries relating to insolvency between January and July 2011, compared to the same period last year.
