Broadbean deal
Job posting and applicant tracking software company Broadbean Technology has been acquired by Associated Northcliffe Digital (AND), the digital consumer division of the Daily Mail and the General Trust. No price was disclosed.
Broadbean currently employs 50 staff and distributes more than 1.5m adverts every month to more than 700 job boards a month. Under the deal announced by AND today, Broadbean will maintain its brand name and keep its current staff and management team.
AND also owns Conkers, which offers a similar service to Broadbean, and Jobsite UK Worldwide. Through Jobsite, AND operates more than 40 generalist, niche and regional job boards.
Broadbean managing director Dan McGuire told Recruiter, 'We'll be able to get our products out faster; we have some things we're working on right now. They have a huge international network, and I'm excited about accelerating our growth plan.
It was going
to take us three or four years to build our international network, but now we'll be able to build it a lot faster.'
Broadbean's founder, Kelly Robinson, said, 'In our first meeting with AND we were introduced to a team of people who truly understood our business. Through discussions it became quite apparent that they would be the ideal group to help accelerate our global expansion. Combining AND's resources with the drive and talent of the Broadbean team is a powerful boost to our ongoing aim of posting the world's online adverts.'
Dan Martin, business development director, Associated Northcliffe Digital, told Recruiter: 'This is a great deal. We've managed to buy a really exciting business. I think it will be an an exciting time.'
Broadbean Technology becomes the 14th company to be acquired by AND as part of an ongoing strategy to build a leading position in the core classified verticals of recruitment, property, motors and dating.
