Our Melica proves she can ‘have it all’ on The Apprentice

Last week, the recruitment industry’s representative on the BBC’s The Apprentice took part in another challenge to win Lord Sugar’s £250k backing.

The second task in this series of the reality programme involved creating a virtual pop star, but did Our Melica hit the high notes or did her team flop and end up in obscurity?

Although neither team’s ‘pop stars’ looked likely to gain a fan following any time soon, AI tech recruitment firm owner Melica Moshiri did well in pitching Bami – the virtual ‘pop’ star dreamt up by her team – to potential partners at a launch party.

Singing along to the newly-composed ‘hit’, Our Melica hoped that she could “have it all” and set about winning sponsorship for Bami, shmoozing the buyers at Debenhams into upping their sponsorship from £125k to £150k.

The team missed out on a five-year £250k deal negotiated by Team Leader Anisa, which, due to her adding in a 12-month get-out clause, Lord Sugar deemed they should only get a fifth of it – £50k.

“You’re joking!” Our Melica piped up in the boardroom, but The Lord affirmed in no uncertain terms he wasn’t… However, it didn’t matter as her team won the task and they all headed off to an immersive studio to rock out to their hearts’ content. Hmmm…

So Our Melica struts her stuff on to another week, proving that – this time round, anyway – she really could “have it all”.
