Elevate Talent leads search for Sport England’s next CEO

Elevate Talent has been appointed to lead the search for Sport England’s new CEO.

This follows the news that the organisation’s current leader Tim Hollingsworth will step down this summer.

Helen Soulsby and David James are managing the search at global executive search and leadership advisory firm Elevate Talent.

Sport England is an “arms-length body”, established by Royal Charter, that is responsible for investing in sport and physical activity to “make it a normal part of life for everyone in England, regardless of who you are or where you come from”, the organisation says.

The role is one of the most influential in English sport and physical activity, with growing responsibility to help the sector to bridge the gap between personal health and activity. Funding local sport and physical organisations, such as swimming pools, is increasingly a challenge with rising utility costs and heightened pressures on local authorities to tighten budgets. The sector is also working to improve collaboration and co-operation between health organisations and sport/leisure collectives to increase the population’s activity levels and benefit health outcomes.
