Executive search firm Erevena announces leadership transition and key appointments

Erevena, a London-headquartered search firm for board and C-suite executives, has made a number of leadership changes of its own.

After 21 years as CEO, Dan Hyde (pictured second from the left) will transition into the newly created, full-time role of executive chair, focusing on client-facing activities and market strategy. Following a comprehensive search process, internally and externally, Jonas Helgesson (pictured far left) will be promoted to CEO (effective immediately), marking a new chapter for the business.

Helgesson has been with the firm for four years and has been instrumental in growing the Northern Europe presence.

With this new structure, the company statement said, Hyde will move away from the day-to-day management of the business to dedicate more time to client relationships and market-facing activities. “This shift will help Erevena expand its capacity and better serve its clients, while also providing greater focus on strategic initiatives,” the statement continued.

Hyde said: “For many years Jon [Irvine] and I had hoped that we would build a business that someone else would want to lead, and that day has come! It’s the right time for this transition and Jonas is the perfect person to lead the company into its next phase. This is part of multiple developments happening this year for Erevena, and I’m energised to continue contributing to the firm’s growth and direction in this new role.”

Helgesson, who is based between London and Stockholm, joined Erevena in 2020: “I’m honoured to be stepping into the CEO role at such an exciting time. Led by Dan and Jon, the team have built an exceptional reputation and international footprint. I’m looking forward to leading the firm as we continue to innovate and grow. This transition is an important step as we take a more holistic approach to talent advisory and executive search and drive new opportunities in key markets.”

The leadership transition builds on the recent strategic appointments of two key industry experts. Gavin Holland (pictured far right) has joined Erevena as partner. He spent more than a decade at Heidrick & Struggles in London and New York, as well as running the organisations’ EMEA financial services business. He joins from asset manager Anthemis, where he served as president.

Danielle Le Toullec (pictured second from the right) also joins as chief marketing officer, with 16 years of experience in B2B marketing, venture capital and innovation advisory. She will focus on reinvigorating Erevena’s global marketing strategy and scaling the firm’s brand presence.

Erevena’s team comprises 60 employees in London, New York, Paris, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and Dubai. The company plans to explore new avenues for growth, including expanding its service offerings and deepening its relationships with clients.
