NEW TO THE MARKET: 23-27 JANUARY 2023

This week’s new launches include: AAI EmployAbility, Deel, Kier Group, STEM Returners, WorkYourWay

• Edinburgh not-for-profit AAI EmployAbility has partnered with employee engagement and wellbeing company Trickle to offer its feedback app to clients seeking to improve their team’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). AAI supports businesses to build more diverse teams through inclusive recruiting for permanent roles and short-term placements. It also offers a wide range of D&I training, as well as projects to support corporate social responsibility.

Use of the Trickle app will give its placed candidates – mostly from underrepresented groups – the opportunity to make suggestions, raise concerns and reach out for support to their new employers in real-time.

• Global HR firm Deel has launched Deel HR, US Payroll, and Deel Engage, which enables employers to hire, manage and pay global workers compliantly on one platform. New functionality includes:

  • Deel HR – Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to compliantly manage an entire global workforce, from local employees to international workers, and everything in between.
  • US Payroll – This marks the expansion of Deel’s global payroll offering with its first in-house payroll engine, starting in the US.
  • Deel Engage – A set of HR Slack and Microsoft Teams plugins connected to Deel HR to help distributed teams build a stronger culture, increase team collaboration, manage time off requests, one-on-one’s, candidate referrals, and more.

Macphie, a food ingredient manufacturer in Scotland, is recruiting new staff at its newly refurbished factory in Tannochside following rising demand for its products. The firm has initially created more than 40 new job roles in the area and is now looking for a further 20 staff members to join its production team.

• UK construction and property group Kier has partnered with STEM Returners to help people get back to work after a career break. A variety of roles will be offered across the country, in both sites and offices and will play a vital role in the group’s delivery of its projects.

STEM Returners will source candidates for the programme and will provide returners with additional support including advice, career coaching, networking opportunities and mentoring – ensuring applicants are ready and confident to return to work.

Applicants will undertake a fully paid 12-week ‘returnship’ which allows candidates to be reintegrated into an inclusive environment upon their return to STEM. All the roles Kier is putting through STEM Returners are permanent roles, meaning the applicant has an opportunity to continue at the Group at the end of the 12 weeks. The mentoring and coaching platform will be available for returners for 12 months, so they continue to be supported as they fulfil their role.

• Flexible working jobsite WorkYourWay, has launched to match people with flexible working roles across the globe. WorkYourWay is underpinned by a unique ‘flexibase’ algorithm that generates percentage scores for roles and candidates to help them to find their perfect flex match. The new site aims to bring total transparency to a job market.
