• Global executive search firm Granger Reis has appointed Esmeé Vermolen as board director to drive its technology strategy. Rotterdam-based Vermolen moves onto the board following 18 months as head of technology and innovation at Granger Reis, where she has created systems moving away from ‘outdated’ exec search models.

• Technology staffing solutions firm Primis Talent has announced that business manager Tim Salmon will be moving to New York to head up the team in the US city. Salmon will continue to grow the New York office, adding new team members and developing current employees throughout 2023.

• Specialist recruiter Procurement Heads has made two appointments. Gemma Burman joins the firm as senior manager – interim recruitment. Burman brings more than 10 years’ recruitment experience to the role. The firm has also promoted Will Cooke to senior recruitment consultant on the financial and professional services side of the business. Cooke joined as recruitment associate in 2021 before being promoted to recruitment consultant last year.

• Sports industry executive recruitment specialists Sporting Jobs has appointed Harry Lynch as head of recruitment at its Birmingham headquarters. Lynch has more than 10 years’ experience of working in the recruitment industry, and joins from Vento Group. He started his career as a graduate recruitment trainee for the Executive Network Group, where he spent four years and advanced to a senior recruitment consultant role.

Agency workers at UK’s well-known retailer told to stay at home

Marks & Spencer (M&S) has ordered hundreds of agency workers at its main distribution centre to stay at home.
