Apprenticeship programme receives ‘incredible’ 3,000 applications across England, Scotland and Wales

National housebuilder Bellway has received more than 3,000 applications for the first time as it launched its Bellway apprenticeship programme.

Bdaily reports that the Newcastle upon Tyne-headquartered builder introduced its in-house apprenticeship scheme for 2022, co-ordinating the intake of new talent across England, Scotland and Wales.

This resulted in the largest-ever number of applications for Bellway apprenticeships.

Out of these, there were 57 successful applicants, who have already begun their new careers with Bellway, which operates from 22 regional divisions across the country.

The company has taken on new recruits for both entry-level and higher-level apprenticeships in a range of disciplines including construction and trades, technical and commercial, and business and finance.

“Our apprenticeship training programme continues to go from strength to strength and this year, for the first time, has been nationally co-ordinated to ensure that all new recruits start at the same time,” said Laura Bell, Bellway Group human resources and organisational development manager.

“We received an incredible response to our first in-house apprenticeship scheme, with a record number of applications.”
