Randstad appoints Monk MD of UK & Ireland

Specialist recruiter Randstad has appointed a new managing director to focus on its permanent business operations within the UK and Ireland.

Colin Monk joins Randstad from ManpowerGroup with over 20 years of HR and recruitment experience, including director-level positions at Capita and Page Group. In addition to powering perm growth, Monk joins Randstad’s leadership team and board of directors.

Victoria Short, CEO of Randstad UK&I, said: “Perm has bounced back much more than any forecaster may have predicted. We have seen this phenomenon globally. People have had time to reflect during lockdown and more recently during the festive period, to identify what it is they want, and this has helped bolster the perm bounce.”

As part of his new role, Monk will be trebling Randstad’s permanent headcount this year.
