Taylor Martin Recruitment sold to The Recruitment Group after going into administration

Nationwide insolvency practitioner SFP has successfully completed the sale of Taylor Martin Recruitment’s business and assets after it went into administration in November 2021.

The sale secured over 400 contract jobs.

Midlands-based Taylor Martin Recruitment has been providing labour recruitment in a variety of sectors since 2008. At its peak in 2014, the company had a turnover of around £17m, with a team of 800 temporary contract staff.

In an SFP statement, it reported that in 2018, Taylor Martin began experiencing financial difficulties, “which only increased with the sudden impact of Covid-19 in 2020”.

David Kemp and Richard Hunt of SFP were appointed as joint administrators on 19 November 2021.

The assets of Taylor Martin Recruitment were subsequently sold to Recruitment Investments Ltd, a specialist in the acquisition and merger of recruitment operations. This acquisition has been added to their portfolio brand – The Recruitment Group, headed by recruitment industry entrepreneurs Paul Hipkiss and Mark Taylor.

The sale took place on 30 November 2021 and included the transfer of full-time employees and 400 temporary staff, the SFP statement said.

“The sale completion provided continuity of the business, ensuring the 400 temporary staff and employees were not out of work,” Kemp said in the company statement.

“Seeking professional guidance can be crucial and there should not be any stigma attached to it. We advise businesses to seek guidance and help as soon as possible, to ensure continued success.”
