Recruiter Dunn highlights Covid-19 job crisis in Channel 4 documentary

Recruiters will recognise this story in one form or another all too well – but tonight [Monday 2 November], the British public will get a look at the harrowing Covid-19 jobs crisis in Channel 4’s Dispatches programme.

The programme will focus on a single job vacancy for a waiter at a Manchester restaurant that attracted 947 applicants, from a former cruise line dancer to well-experienced hospitality professionals. The job was posted by Abi Dunn of hospitality recruiter Sixty Eight People.

Dunn told Dispatches: “I’m shocked by that, and it’s a real indication of where the sector’s at.”

Dispatches will be broadcast at 9pm on Channel 4. Let us know your thoughts or similar experiences you’ve had after you’ve watched the programme.
