Glad tidings for recruiters as legal hiring set to soar

Recruiters will be gladdened to hear the news that the organisation running the Legal Ombudsman is looking to hire significantly more staff next year.

The Office for Legal Complaints confirmed yesterday that it expected to use £1.2m of the increase in its indicative budget from £12.35 in 2019-20 to £14.8m in 2020-21 to hire additional staff.

Ruth Marsh, chief ombudsman and CEO of the Office for Legal Complaints, says: “We are now working at maximum efficiency for the staff we currently have, and so to go beyond this we will need to increase our operational staff. Our proposed budget increase of £2.4m next year reflects this, as well as our commitment to increase our learning and feedback work for the sector.”
