Get paid for Halloween trick? Creepy clowns need only apply

Is your favourite Halloween costume the Joker or Pennywise, where you scare the living daylights out of your colleagues?

Well, the good news is you can now be paid for it.

Bespoke team building company TeamTactics.co.uk has launched a new scaring service (yes, really), and is recruiting people who resemble some of the world’s scariest clowns, including Pennywise, Wrinkles and The Joker, to scare unsuspecting prank victims in a £100-an-hour job role this Halloween.

From 28-31 October, members of the public will be able to hire the clowns through Team Tactics to scare friends and/or family at their place of work.

According to the job ad, aspiring applicants must have a large forehead and high-pitched voice to act as Pennywise, or be slim with a manic laugh to be recruited as The Joker. An acting background or training is not essential, however, it is a bonus.

Those who’d like to apply must provide a photo along with which clown they are willing to play and a short paragraph on why they’d make a good scary clown.

Costumes will be mailed to each hired clown, with Team Tactics looking to find 10 clowns across the UK to cover all major regions.

The job will see successful applicants creeping into places of work and scaring unsuspecting people, while in character as the clown they’re playing. The encounters will also be filmed for people to relive once they are over the initial scare. Nice… [All you mischievous recruiters out there: do send us any footage if you decide to play a trick on colleagues – as long as said ‘victim’ finds it amusing afterwards…!]
