Woman arrested for posting racist Facebook ad

A woman from Port Talbot, who posted on Facebook that her taxi company did not want to employ Pakistani or ‘dark’ drivers, has been cautioned by South Wales police.

The BBC reports the woman, who was arrested last Friday (26 July), “fully admitted” the racially-aggravated public order offence.

South Wales Police reminded the public that the use of social media carries responsibilities, with a spokesperson adding: “Before posting comments, it is advisable to consider what impact those comments will have on other people and whether the post could be breaking the law.”

A South Wales Police spokesperson told Recruiter its policy is to only name people charged with offences.
