CONTRACTS & DEALS: 15-19 JULY 2019

This week’s contracts and deals include: Adepto, CV-Library, HireXtra, Morgan Hunt, Job Sender, Recruitive Software, SaaS Holdings, SCP Aberdeen, Search Consultancy, WhiteHat

• Conviction Investment Partners (CIP) has led a £2m venture round, alongside Triple Point and other investors, to fund the continued international expansion of skills-based total talent software as a service (SaaS) platform Adepto. The funding round brings Adepto’s total amount raised to date to £4.7m.

• Independent job board CV-Library has integrated with recruitment software provider Job Sender, providing the platform’s users with access to CVs directly from the CV-Library database.

CV-Library is also partnering with global applicant tracking system JobDiva, providing its users with access to CVs from the CV-Library database. The integration means that companies using JobDiva to source talent can now search CV-Library’s talent pool. CV-Library’s sister site, Resume-Library, is already integrated with JobDiva in the US.

• Bespoke crowd staffing service provider HireXtra has confirmed a pre-IPO (initial public offering) for private investors in preparation for an upcoming IPO of stock. Through the pre-IPO, HireXtra is targeting admission to the NASDAQ Nordic exchange in Stockholm.

HireXtra is currently valued at SEK50m (Swedish Krona) – around £5m. Under the pre-IPO, shares in HireXtra are being offered at SEK10 per share with a minimum transaction of 250 shares; 250 additional shares are offered per transaction following the IPO, an offer which is limited to one transaction per buyer.

• Public sector staffing specialist Morgan Hunt has agreed a partnership with the Institute of Fundraising (IoF) to exclusively provide a free year’s Individual Membership to the body. This offer is available for all candidates who successfully secure a new fundraising role through Morgan Hunt’s recruitment service and is valid from 1 July. Terms and conditions apply.

• Software firm SaaS Holdings has acquired the business and assets of recruitment software provider Recruitive Software. Recruitive revealed the deal had taken more than 12 weeks to conclude while administrators sought a new buyer for the Intellectual property rights and assets of Recruitive.

It is understood there were three or more interested parties competing for the business. The deal safeguards the jobs of the 33 staff employed by Recruitive in Cannock, Staffordshire.

New members are joining the board of SaaS Holdings to help drive the business forward under a restructure plan. The new business will also house the front-end design studio of Zero One Design, the specialist careers website design and job board provider, to enhance the current range of software products available, while supporting clients with additional design, SEO and cloud-based hosting services.

• Multi-sector recruiter Search Consultancy has acquired SCP Aberdeen, a specialist provider of healthcare recruitment in Scotland. SCP helps companies that provide support to people with care needs, allowing them to continue living independently. The firm is led by healthcare managing director Lisa McLean.

SCP is part of the City and County Healthcare Group – a UK-wide specialist in delivering temporary and permanent staff to the NHS, local authorities and the charity sector. The SCP team will join the Search Aberdeen office.

WhiteHat, a tech startup building an alternative to university through apprenticeships, has announced $16m (£12.7m) in fundraising. More than 250 employers including BP, Facebook, Salesforce, Publicis, Santander, Kantar, Bulb and Clifford Chance are now operating WhiteHat apprenticeship programmes.

The Series A round was led by Index Ventures with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures. The funding will enable WhiteHat to open up its apprenticeship programmes to new clients, hire diverse and high-potential talent, and develop existing employees.

Co-founded in 2016 by Euan Blair and Sophie Adelman, WhiteHat is currently based in London but will soon begin expanding across the UK, starting with Leeds.
