• Independent commercial law firm Brabners has appointed employment solicitor Kate Venables as partner. Venables, who trained at Brabners and qualified as an employment lawyer in 2005, is an experienced employment tribunal practitioner.

Charlotte Murdoch has joined multi-sector recruiter Foundation Recruitment as a director in its London office. She was previously founder of real estate staffing specialist York Street, and before that was head of practice, estates management at search firm Holtby Turner.

• Executive search firm Friisberg & Partners International has appointed Lorri Lowe as partner, based in Birmingham.

• Executive search firm Holmes Noble has appointed Caroline James Nock, group HR director of Hill & Smith Holdings, as a non-executive director.

• The Institute of Student Employers (ISE), previously known as the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR), has appointed Alison Heron, global head of employer brand at GSK, and Bob Athwal, senior talent manager at Skyscanner, as fellows. They join existing fellows and former ISE chairs Terence Perrin and Alison Hodgson, as well as former ISE CEO Carl Gilleard.

• International executive search firm Pedersen & Partners has appointed Patrick Koffi Placktor as a new client partner in its Paris office.
