Is this employer making a mug out of candidates?

The managing director of an Australian software firm has hit on an innovative test of attitude, which candidates must pass if they want to land a job.

Birmingham Live reports Trent Innes, MD of software firm Xero Australia, accompanies candidates on a walk, which deliberately takes them past the firm’s kitchen where they are given a hot drink.

Should they fail to return their cup to the kitchen once the interview is done, they fail to land to the role.

"You can develop skills, you can gain knowledge and experience,” Innes said. “But it really does come down to attitude, and the attitude that we talk a lot about is the concept of ‘wash your own coffee cup’."
