Rise in employee expectations as generous benefits increase

As companies increase staff perks as a way to keep workers engaged, employees’ expectations are also rising, with some now taking much for granted instead of valuing the benefits.

While the culture at identification verification software company Onfido is defined by behaviours, values and attitudes, for instance, and not by “pool tables, ping pong, beers in the fridge”, director of talent ZeShaan Shamsi reported in an industry panel discussion on Wednesday (1 May) that generous benefits can fuel expectations.
