Lloyds Banking Group creates digital hub with hundreds of new tech jobs

Edinburgh stands to benefit to the tune of 500 high skilled jobs thanks to the launch of a digital tech hub in the city.

The BBC reports Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) is to create the roles at its Scottish Widows’ headquarters and has already started recruiting software engineers and data scientists for the hub.

The new roles will be phased in over the next 18 months, while the hub will be used to develop new technology for Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Scottish Widows customers.

The recruitment drive forms part of a £3bn investment announced by Lloyds last year to overhaul its digital services.
