Well, now you can. The Vibrant Vegan Co is seeking a director of taste, who will be charged with finding, then taste testing, new exotic ingredients and recipes, which will be fed back and incorporated into the firm’s products.

Successful recruits will need at least three years’ experience in the food business or as a chef and will be expected to work up to 35 hours a week. They must also be willing to be away from the UK for long periods of time, travelling up to four months at a time across the world to countries such as India, China, Turkey, Chile, Mexico and Japan.

All of the recruit’s expenses will be covered including travel, accommodation and food. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a rigorous interview process and be subject to a full background check. The chosen candidate will also be required to complete an in-house taste test to see if their palate is up to scratch.
