Morson-sponsored horse wins King George VI Chase

A horse backed by a recruitment agency emerged as victor in the recent King George VI Chase at Kempton Park.

In a statement on its website, technical recruiter Morson revealed Clans Des Obeaux, of the Morson-sponsored Paul Nicholls’ horse racing yard in Ditcheat, Somerset, was the winner of the race, which took place on 26 December 2018.

The horse, co-owned by Morson CEO Ged Mason alongside former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Paul Barber, was ridden by jockey Harry Cobden.

The win was Paul Nicholls’ 10th King George winner, with his last being in 2014 with Silvinicaco Conti. He first won it in 1997 with future Gold Cup winner See More Business and won it five times in a row with Kauto Star.
