Workers needed for wind turbine expansion on Isle of Wight

The Isle of Wight stands to benefit from the creation of “hundreds” of new green energy jobs.

The BBC reports wind turbine company MHI Vestas said more staff were needed to produce the 80m (260ft) blades for its new V164 wind turbine.

While the firm said the exact number of jobs was not yet known, it described it as a “significant expansion over the next few months”.

It currently employs 300 people at its blade manufacturing facility at West Medina Mills in Newport on the South Coast island.
