Global job search engine Adzuna has acquired Work In Startups, a jobs platform focused on the UK’s growing technology sector.

Work In Startups’ network includes thousands of monthly jobseekers and listings from hundreds of young businesses working in tech. Following the acquisition, the company will continue operating under its independent brand.

According to Adzuna’s data, around 90,000 of the UK’s open roles (around 12%) are in tech.

Doug Monro, co-founder of Adzuna, said: “We are thrilled at the opportunity to take Work In Startups to the next level, having watched it become an integral piece of the UK start-up hiring scene over the past few years. It has been a fantastic resource for our key early hires, and with our experience from Adzuna and Gumtree, we’re excited about what we can achieve here.”

He added: “We see the platform as a rough diamond that brings a strong community and additional potential to grow and improve the experience for both advertisers and jobseekers.”

Work In Startups co-founder Diana Ilinca said: “Adzuna is a global leader in the online job space, and I believe Work In Startups will benefit from its marketing and technology expertise, which will help accelerate the growth of the platform.”
