Resignations on the rise despite concerns over shrinking talent pool

While UK recruiters appear to be fishing in an ever-evaporating talent pool, the number of workers tendering their resignations is actually on the increase.
New research, out this week collated by an online HR resource provide XpertHR, has found one in five (19%) employees resigned from their job in 2017, up from 15.5% in 2016.
According to XpertHR, labour turnover statistics from 398 organisations polled show the resignation rate has increased steadily since 2012, when it stood at 10.6%, with the biggest change in turnover rates in the manufacturing and production sectors.
This comes at a time when the latest JobsOutlook from the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) revealed half of UK employers raised concerns about the availability of candidates for permanent jobs.
