Recruiter helps rescue Lucky kitten from catastrophic situation

A recruiter in Australia may have saved the life of a furry interloper after discovering it trapped inside a wall cavity for more than 24 hours.

The Western Australian reports the lucky kitten was rescued by Kalgoorlie-Boulder firefighters, after being trapped inside a wall cavity at the offices of GPH Recruitment.

Recruitment consultant at GPH Justine Warren told the paper she heard the “meows” of a kitten on Monday evening and went onto the roof to rescue the kitty, before realising there was a second kitten trapped inside the wall cavity.

According to firefighter Martin Junker, the kitten was lucky to be alive, as it had been trapped about 4.5m down the wall, meaning rescuers had to duct tape poles together with a net at the end to reach the kitten.

But happily, the kitten was rescued and was nicknamed Lucky by officers.

Lucky was taken by RSPCA Goldfields inspector Fiona Brown for a medical check-up before being reunited with her sibling. Kind-hearted recruiter Warren will be fostering the pair before the duo can find a forever home.

Brown said the kitten calmed down after a cuddle and praised the diligence of the attending firefighters who saved Lucky’s life. And of course our eagle-eared recruiter for finding the kittens. She must be feline very proud of herself…
