Recruiter MBN’s bid to become plastic free

Data science & analytics, technology and digital staffing specialist MBN is making great strides toward going plastic free.

The group revealed its move in a recent update posted on its site.

Elaborating on the group’s bid to become a plastic-free workplace, an MBN spokesperson told Recruiter the agency had previously used plastic cutlery and cups on a daily basis, but this had proven impractical due to the sheer wastage involved.

While the group had already made a conscious effort to recycle paper, cans and plastic in the office, the decision was taken to eliminate plastic cutlery and cups.

Consequently, metal cutlery, reusable water bottles and mugs have replaced the plastic cutlery and cups that were previously used.

“Environmental responsibility is an area MBN will continuously work to improve and if other companies made these small changes we could make a massive difference,” the spokesperson told Recruiter.

The office isn’t completely plastic free, however, the spokesperson added, as the agency still uses plastic pens. Maybe a return to quills and ink might be a step too far…
