PepsiCo UK helps returnees with training and skills building

PepsiCo UK has launched an initiative aimed at helping people refresh their skills ahead of returning to the workplace.

In a statement, the food and drinks giant revealed it is seeking candidates with experience across supply chain, finance and sales to take part in a 10-12-week paid programme, designed to help people who have taken a career break of at least two years.

Participants will benefit from mentoring and coaching support, as well as training to refresh and build new skills.

Once they have completed the course they will also be considered for PepsiCo jobs matching their skills and capabilities.

Candidates can apply for roles at its company website. Applications close on 22 June 2018.

Explaining the reasons behind the launch of the programme, vice president, HR for UK and Ireland Jesper Petersen, said: “We want to attract and retain the best talent out there and hope that this programme will unveil some strong contenders.”

Following a successful pilot of the programme in the US last year, all pilot programme participants were offered contract extensions, and half are now in full-time posts at PepsiCo.
