Baltimore Consulting leaves Opus as Kenny heads MBO

Public and third sector recruiter Baltimore Consulting, part of the Opus Talent Solutions Group, has just completed a management buyout for £1.4m.

The £10m turnover business was the second brand after Opus to be set up within the group by founders Darren Ryemill and Charmaine Kenny back in 2013.

As a result of the buyout, Baltimore CEO Kenny will leave the Opus group of companies.

Commenting on the deal, Ryemill said: “Everyone at Opus has been very proud of the success it has had. We have reached a point as a group where we want to focus on the tech space with even more intensity and as such this management buyout is a great way for Baltimore to continue to grow and establish themselves as the market leader in their field, whilst enabling Opus to use the revenue generated to accelerate our already record-breaking growth in the tech space.”

Kenny adds: “This is a huge milestone for me and the entire team, who I’m extremely proud of. With the support of a fantastic management team, Baltimore will continue to reinvest in a number of areas such as staff attraction, networking, wellbeing and business development.

“I’m enormously confident that the next 12 months will propel Baltimore to a whole new level of success. Darren has been a hugely positive influence on both me and the Baltimore journey so far and I’m truly excited to embark on our next chapter independently.”
