Canine critics queue up for chance to become news hound

A dog-friendly travel company has been inundated with applications for a canine critic to carry out property reviews.

Recruiter first reported on Canine Cottage’s unusual vacancy last month. And in an update this morning the firm revealed they had received 1,000 applications from discerning doggy hopefuls in the first 24 hours after posting the vacancy.

Canine residents of the North of England have been the most proactive applicants so far, making up 30% of the submissions, with the Midlands coming in second with 26% and the South-East in third place with 10%.

The cities most applicants have hailed from are Stoke, London and Newcastle, and the most popular names of four-legged applicants are Bella, Poppy and Lola.

There’s still time for any entrepawneurs out there who want to wag their tail into the mix. Closing date is this Sunday [22 April].
