Man arrested in alleged modern slavery raid in Sheffield

A man has been arrested over modern slavery offences following a raid in Sheffield yesterday.

According to a statement from the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA), its officers carried out a search of an address in Greenwood Avenue in Littledale, Sheffield.

An Indian national was arrested on suspicion of modern slavery offences and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The operation was led by the GLAA with support from South Yorkshire Police.
