REC’s Vallance to become interim CEO following Green’s departure

The Recruitment & Employment Confederation’s director of finance David Vallance is to assume the position of interim CEO, following Kevin Green’s departure on 15 March, until the new CEO is appointed.

Late last year, the REC announced Green would be leaving the recruitment trade body in the spring of this year after a decade in the role.

Green, who is to pursue a portfolio career of non-executive director roles and consultancy, has been invited by the REC’s board to act as chair of its Good Recruitment Campaign in a newly created role for a period of 12 months. In this role, he will also be chairing the REC’s Talent, Recruitment and Employment Conference on 4 July.

Early this year, Recruiter revealed executive permanent & interim recruitment specialist GatenbySanderson had won the race to recruit Kevin Green’s successor.

In an update on the search for their new CEO, REC chair Chris Moore said their search is “moving forward”, while the response so far has been “fantastic”.

“Kevin Green played a major role in this and the board was therefore very keen to keep the connection with him. We have invited Kevin to take on the role as the chair of the Good Recruitment Campaign, as he has already invested so much of his time and effort into the success of the project. And with his support we can ensure the momentum continues for this important initiative.”
