Road improvements to provide 6,000 jobs boost

Up to 6,000 jobs are to be created as a result of three road improvement schemes announced by Highways England.

The new schemes, together worth £45.5m are set to boost employment at sites in Leicestershire and the South-East.

The first scheme on the M27 in Hampshire is set create 250 jobs, the A46/A560 road improvement in Leicestershire 260 jobs, while 5,600 new jobs are expected as a result of the M1 Junction 23 improvements.
